工学博士，主要从事超高性能混凝土、隧道病害智能识别，新型仿生防护材料与结构、精细化数值模拟、计算机视觉等研究工作, 参与国家重点研发计划1项、国防科技创新特区项目1项、国自科联合项目1项、面上项目1项、湖南省重点研发计划1项。已发表论文19篇，其中TOP期刊4篇，IF≥10的期刊2篇，参编书籍1部，是《Journal of Sustainable Cement-based Materials》，《Bioinspiration & Biomimetics》等期刊审稿人。
