主要从事岩石力学，隧道及地下工程建造理论及工法方面的研究。参建了亚洲铁路TBM第一隧道等重大工程4项，参与攻关了省部级课题世界最大跨度洞库建造技术，获国家发明专利4项，发表论文15篇，具有丰富的工程经验和丰硕的科研成果。
