Dr. Zhang graduated with Honors from Chu Kochen Honors College of Zhejiang University, earned his Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University, USA, and completed his PhD at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Early in his career, he made significant contributions to civil engineering, shell theory, computational mechanics, wind turbine towers, and FRP composites.
