Before joining Shenzhen University in 2023 as an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, Dr. Zhang was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Tongji University. He received his doctorate in Civil Engineering from Waseda University in 2020. His primary research interests include structural durability, life-cycle structural performance, and the reliability of civil infrastructure. In 2021, Dr. Zhang was selected for the Shanghai "Science and Technology Innovation Action Plan" Sailing Program and led a project funded by the Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In 2020, he received the "Best Student Paper Award" at the 7th International Symposium on Reliability Engineering and Risk Management (ISRERM2020).
