Yan Wang earned her Bachelor's degree in Energy and Power Engineering from Central South University. In 2020, she was admitted to the Ph.D. program at Tsinghua University's Department of Building Science and Technology through a prestigious direct-entry pathway, ranking among the top 3% of her undergraduate cohort (3rd out of 126). She studied under the supervision of Distinguished Young Scholar Professor Jinhan Mo. In 2025, she joined Professor Mo’s research team at Shenzhen University as an Assistant Professor. Her research focuses on interdisciplinary areas within civil and architectural engineering, particularly the efficient sensing and monitoring of air components in built environments. She is dedicated to addressing core technical challenges in the accurate monitoring of trace-level, multi-component volatile organic compounds (VOCs). To date, she has published 15 SCI-indexed papers, including 5 first-author papers in authoritative journals such as Building and Environment (CAS Q1 TOP, IF=7.6) and Journal of Building Engineering (IF=7.4). Her work has garnered 120 SCI citations. She holds 1 authorized invention patent, with 1 additional Chinese invention patent and 1 PCT patent application pending. As a key member, she has participated in multiple research projects, including the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, General Programs, a sub-project under the "14th Five-Year" National Key R&D Program, and projects with China State Shipbuilding Corporation. Her research was recognized with the "Outstanding Poster Award" at the National Conference on Indoor Environment and Health (the sole awardee from Tsinghua University). She also serves as an independent reviewer for several international journals, including Building and Environment and Scientific Data. Her honors include the Tsinghua University Comprehensive Excellence Scholarship, the National Scholarship, and the honor of Outstanding Graduate of Hunan Province.
