Dr. Eskinder Desta Shumuye is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering, Shenzhen University, Guangdong, China. Before joining SZU in 2021, he worked as a Faculty of Water Engineering at Hawassa University, Institute of Technology (HUiOT) for more than 5 years and as a Site Engineer at MIDROC Ethiopia. He has over 10 years of research experience in the areas of fire resistance concrete, geopolymer concrete, fibre reinforced concrete, high strength & UHPC, waste materials in concrete, service life/performance prediction of reinforced concrete structures, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications, project planning, and water distribution modelling software. Dr. Eskinder earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia and Zhengzhou University, Henan, China, respectively. He has published over 15 peer-reviewed articles. Currently, he is actively engaged in studying the durability of engineering cementitious composites (ECC) at Shenzhen University. Dr. Eskinder is a registered professional engineer in Ethiopia, ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineering) and a member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI).
